Counselling 1-1

Overview

Our one-to-one counselling service offers a safe, confidential space where women can talk through their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a trained listener. We work in

partnership with the University of Suffolk to offer placements to trainee counsellors who are studying person-centred, CBT, or psychodynamic counselling. All counsellors are BACP-registered, DBS checked, and fully supervised to ensure high-quality, professional support. Often counsellors choose to continue to volunteer after their placement once qualified too.

Who It’s For

Free counselling is available to women aged 18+ who are already accessing other groups or services at Feathers Futures. Due to high demand, we are unable to accept referrals solely for counselling.

What to Expect

· Weekly, confidential one-to-one sessions

· A choice of counselling approaches including person-centred, CBT, and psychodynamic (depending on availability)

· A calm and supportive environment at Feathers House

· Time to reflect, explore personal challenges, and find your own way forward

How to Access Counselling

If you are already attending groups or support sessions at Feathers Futures and feel you would benefit from counselling, speak to a member of staff. We’ll guide you through the next steps.

Please note: Due to high demand, waiting times may apply. Counselling is only available to women actively involved in our wider services.

What Women Say

“Having someone listen without judgement has helped me see things differently. Counselling has made such a difference to how I feel about myself.”
